WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION IS HELD 

The following information is currently collected and processed: 

  • Name 

  • Personal contact details (email address, mobile phone number etc). 

  • Any relevant medical history/personal circumstances which you choose to share with Samata in order to establish whether and to what extent the courses she provides may suit your requirements. 

HOW THE INFORMATION IS OBTAINED AND WHY IT IS HELD 

Most of the personal information Samata processes is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons: 

  • To allow Samata to provide you with details of the courses offered 

  • To provide you with information pertaining to one of the courses that you are participating in with Samata

  • To give you information about future courses or classes with Samata

We may share this information if required to do so by law, or for reasons of safeguarding against harm to you or others. 

Under The Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2017, the lawful bases relied upon for processing this information are:  

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Samata at samatamindfulness@gmail.com.

(b) It is necessary to enable information to be supplied to you relating to and/or forming part of the courses run by Samata.

HOW WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION  

Your information is stored safely and securely in Guernsey, Channel Islands.  

We keep your data for a period of two years from the date of initial receipt. 

YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS 

Under data protection law, you have rights including: 

Your right of access - You have the right to ask for copies of your personal information.  

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.  

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.  

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances.  

Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances. 

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances. 

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
